Welcome to the Maltese Movement of Organic Agriculture

MOAM

The Maltese Movement of organic agriculture started on 3rd November 1999. The main goal of this movement is to endorse any initiatives on a national scale in-favour the use of natural products to grow crops without any chemical residues. This movement will also make sure that all local animals develop with dignity and there will be no infringement regarding animal-rights. In addition, with regarding the organic agriculture legislation, this movement will share its best practices on how to sustain the Maltese agriculture in the best way possible.

MOAM & IFOAM

MOAM is a member in the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) which has more than 187 members across all continents. The IFOAM shed light on four principles which are the principle of Health, the principle of Ecology, the principle of Fairness and the principle of Care.

When MOAM participates in the IFOAMeu meetings, all Maltese participants will learn best practices and gather information on organic agriculture. This information will then be shared on a national scale using different methods.

Frequently, MOAM organises short courses so that more local agriculturalists switch from a conventional agriculture to an organic agriculture.

Members will also have the benefit to access courses organised from the MOAM committee. On different local radio stations, MOAM will also share their best practices on organic agriculture.
